International Fellowship of Christian Churches (IFCC) in Zambia president, Bishop Simon Chihana has challenged Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata to answer to allegations that he has been assuring donors of sanctioning gay rights once elected into power.
Bishop Chihana said allegations against Mr. Sata were abominable and satanic, adding that the opposition leader’s silence would not help him.
He told Radio Phoenix Thursday, that the Church organization had been looking forward to hear Mr Sata respond to the allegations because homosexuality was resented among Christians who formed more than 75 per cent of Zambia’s population.
“As a Church we have been waiting for Mr. Sata to respond to allegations that he has been pushing for gay rights with the donors and diplomats whom he has been meeting, when elected president, this allegation is abominable and satanic. Zambia is not for sale and Mr. Sata must not remain mute about it.”
“We are expecting to hear from him because silence means acknowledgment to the allegation and as Christians, we hate and resent homosexuality and its wickedness,” Bishop Mambo said.
He said the Church would not remain silent and tolerate what he described as “demonic leadership” in Zambia and stressed that Mr. Sata needed to explain himself to the nation.
