Finance Bank has finally written an apology to PF president Michael Sata for the licking leaking confidential bank transactions of the opposition leader.
This is in conformity with the seven days ultimatum issued by Mr. Sata’s lawyers Wynter Munacaambwa Kabimba and company to the bank asking them to not only apologise but also to explain how a client’s bank transactions were leaked to an outsider of the financial institution.
According to the apology letter to Wynter Munacaambwa Kabimba and companyand company, Finance Bank managing director David King explained that the release of his bank transaction were unauthorised and therefore apologised to Mr. Sata for the embarrassment caused to him.
Mr. King further requested Wynter Munacaambwa Kabimba and company to understand the bank’s apology and not take legal action for the breach of confidentiality.
“The Bank is in the process of trying to establish whether the source of this breach emanated internally through monitoring logs. The Bank is not desirous of litigation, which would only draw further unnecessary publicity over this matter but would like to resolve the matter amicably,” the bank requested.
Lawyers Wynter Munacaambwa Kabimba and company had given Finance Bank a seven-day ultimatum to explain how former PF secretary general Edward Mumbi got access to one of the PF leader’s accounts at the bank.
This followed Mr. Mumbi’s allegation that Mr. Sata paid Change Life Zambia executive director Fr Frank Bwalya $100,000 to de-campaign the government.
